My Beautiful Rambutan Tree In Tanjung Rambutan

The wonderful short film combines the skills and experience of leading Malaysian writer/director U-Wei Bin Haji Saari (‘Kaki Bakar’ aka ‘The Arsonist’ – Un Certain Regard Cannes 1995) with an internationally recognized crew. The key production members include production designer Desmond Crowe from the United Kingdom (‘Alexander’, ‘Hamlet, HBO’s ‘Band of Brothers’) and director of photography Daven R from Salon Films in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (“Dayang”, “Buka Api”)

The film was premiered at Director’s Fortnight (Quinzaine) in Cannes

It is superbly interesting to see a story from a child’s point of view; an honest account, which is innocent, pure and sacred. In any story, the truth is always hidden behind the facts and dictions, which always blur the interpretation.
