Tantra (In Development)

The enigmatic sect of ascetic Hinduism has long eluded the West. Steeped in secret ritual and passed down through oral tradition over the past 4,500 years, its Shamans, Sages and Seers live in caves and treacherous terrain to protect the nectar of Cosmic Knowledge from falling into the wrong hands.

With the growth of Indian cinema, the re shuffling of world order and the advancement and accessibility of C.G.  now is the time to further  unveil this mystical world with a co-production of  ‘Tantra’.

‘Tantra’ is the first part of a trilogy – stories of magic and mayhem unlike any ever told on the mystical arts. Demons, spirits and departed souls all vie for a chance at the mass destruction of the human race in a live action film as visually compelling as ‘The Lord of The Rings’ but in a whole new terrain.

A haunting special effects blockbuster, the first story is set in the 15^th century India and a mythical South East Asian Island in the 18^th Century, where chosen mortals receive power from departed saints. For not only is there the Right Hand Path of Light, but there is also the terrifying and apocalyptic Left Hand Path of Darkness. ‘Tantra’ represents the universal battle between good and evil, light and dark, but from a perspective previously unfamiliar to Western audiences.

This fascinating epic will thrill and enthrall global audiences,  particularly in the 18-40 age group, and set the stage for the next two stories – ‘Yantra’ and ‘Mantra’. Given the story and underlying themes, there is also great potential for merchandising and gaming franchises, with the real possibility of a graphic novel to be created of back stories during the development and preproduction phases.
